Call for Proposals: ANKA, Synchrotron Radiation Light Source

ANKA, the synchrotron light source of the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, will be providing a total of 3000 hours of beamtime for research purposes every six months, next period commencing 1st September 1st 2003. Free access for scientists after peer review by an international expert commission.

ANKA Synchrotron Light for Non-Destructive Analysis of Materials The advantages of the synchrotron light source ANKA compared to conventional light sources are:,- a continuous, structure-free emission spectrum from the far-infrared to the hard X-ray range (0.5 meV to 40 keV),- orders of magnitude higher intensity,- higher brillance ,- high resolution of the beam reaching the sample,- polarization of the light and low beam divergence Field of Applications:,- X-ray absorption spectroscopy ,- X-ray diffraction ,- X-ray topography ,- Micro-fluorescence-analysis ,- Protein crystallography ,- LIGA (deep X-ray lithography) masks, microstructures ,- Infrared spectroscopy, microscopy and ellipsometry Call for Proposals,Free access for scientists after peer review by an international expert commission Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbH,Institut für Synchrotronstrahlung,Postfach 3640, 76021 Karlsruhe,ANKA User Office: +49(0)7247 / 82-6188 ----------------------------------------------------------------,Application forms: http://www.fzk.de/anka,Deadline(opens in new window): 30.06.03,---------------------------------------------------------------- Next User meeting: September, 15th and 16th, 2003 ,
