The SMILE consortium is looking for CRM (Customer Relationship Management) vendors and consultants
The SMILE project (SME oriented Method for successful CRM Implementation with Low Effort) develops an incremental implementation methodology for the efficient introduction of a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system in small to medium sized enterprises. This SMILE methodology is CRM system independent and is supported by a set of software tools, which assist CRM consultants applying the methodology. The SMILE methodology uses the best practices from implementation methodologies for CRM and ERP applications, developed by the major ERP package vendors and their consulting partners. These are valuable in large-sized enterprises, but are insufficient for SMEs in the context of CRM implementations. The SMILE project tackles these obstacles by using an iterative implementation approach, known as "spiral model" in software engineering and which is favored from other authors for standard software implementations. The first draft of the SMILE methodology is near completion and the SMILE consortium is setting up the infrastructure for the evaluation of the tools. The SMILE consortium is also organizing a SIG (Special Interest Group), allowing CRM vendors and consultants to evaluate the methodology. To become a member of this SIG, send a request to the main contractor (CAS Software AG, Wilhelm-Schickard-Str. 10, 76131 Karlsruhe, Federal Republic of Germany) of the SMILE consortium. When receiving the request, CAS sends a non-disclosure agreement, together with a document describing the SMILE project. This registration is free of charge and after having signed the non-disclosure agreement, the SIG member gets free access to the SMILE methodology.
