A lot of promising Contacts in South Australia Great success for the first German-Austrian Renewable Energy Trade Mission
Six German and Austrian companies participated in the trade mission to learn about the South Australian economic climate and network with local business. The trade mission was organized by the German Austrian Business Council SA (GABCSA) and in Germany by the Renewable Energy Communication and Information Service who are Renewable energies and energy efficient building Trade Fair and Congress organisers in Europe. The delegation had the opportunity to present their products and services to a wide range of Australian companies from which developed numerous business meetings. A presentation was also hosted by Andrew Scott from the Department of Business Manufacturing and Trade informing the delegates of the benefits of setting up business in South Australia which was reiterated at a reception with the South Australian Premier, Mike Rann and the Minister for Energy, Patrick Conlon. The enthusiasm from the South Australians was great, We really hope to work together with you even closer said Daniel Rossetto of Energy SA, There are huge benefits in bringing together German and Australian knowledge. Premier Mike Rann emphasized at the reception the significance of renewable energy within South Australia and offered his support for future events such as the trade mission. The German participants saw this journey as a good basis to make contacts and discover the Australian market. From the competent people we met here, we gained some very interesting information about the different programs and business opportunities within South Australia said Michael Schmidt of RWE Schott Solar GmbH. We found very good conditions to expand our business activities. He sees a great potential in the Australian market. The only thing that doesn't exist yet is a basic legal framework to encourage further development and uptake of renewable energies. This would be the crucial encouragement that industry needs to invest and to create new jobs. The Australian government predetermines a drastic increase in renewable energies during the next few years. There is a lot to do says Andrew Scott of the South Australian government. In this respect international contacts and the import of knowledge are very important to drive things forward. Therefore we are very pleased about this Trade Mission.
