CANCERTRAP is a CD-ROM tool for health education in schools developed by the Scuola Internazionale di Oncologia and the Accademia Nazionale di Medicina in Italy, with support from the EU's "Europe Against Cancer" programme. The project aimed to create an innovative multimedia tool on health education for teachers and pupils in secondary schools. It consists of an interactive game and a series of information charts with accompanying questions on topics such as the "European Code Against Cancer", how cancer develops, cancer prevention, lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and mass screening. A challenge between schools will be run on the Internet throughout January 1998, when pupils can play the game in competition with their counterparts at schools across Europe. Schools can participate free of charge and will be sent the CD-ROM after registering on the project's Web site, at: http://www.mei.it/accmed/
