BRITE/EURAM: Feasibility awards; cooperative research actions; training activities
In the context of the specific RTD programme in the field of industrial materials technologies (BRITE/EURAM II, 1990-1994), the Commission of the European Communities published a call for proposals (OJ No C 333 of 24.12.1991) for research and technology development projects and accompanying measures. The present information notice is to remind potential applicants of an open call for Feasibility Awards, cooperative research actions and specific training activities, forming part of the above call, and remaining open until December 1993 subject to the availability of funding. Small and medium-sized enterprises are invited to submit proposals for feasibility awards and cooperative research actions (CRAFT). The former are grants for individual SMEs of up to 75% of costs, not exceeding ECU 30,000, of research undertaken during a nine month period to establish the feasibility of an innovative concept, process or material. In CRAFT actions, companies facing a technical problem join together and assign a third party (research association, university or company) to carry out research and development. The Community may contribute up to 50% of full costs in the range ECU 0.4 million to ECU 1 million for a period of one to two years. Technologists are invited to apply for specific training activities (research fellowships and subsidies in the context of ongoing research projects, and specific grants and support for courses and conferences).
