Polish Technology Platforms Conference

The Conference launching the Program of Polish Technology Platforms took place at the Ministry of Research and Information Technology in Warsaw on 10 January 2005.

The Conference was initiated by outstanding and dynamic representatives of the Polish industry who expressed a strong interest to participate in the newly emerged Polish Technology Platforms. The event was chaired by Mr. Michal Kleiber, Minister of Research and Information Technology, Mr. Krzysztof Krystowski, vice-Minister of Economy and Labor, Mr.Christos Tokamanis, Head of Unit in DG RTD and Mr Andrzej Siemaszko, Director of NCP-Poland. The achievements of 3 existing Polish Technology Platforms were presented: - Polish Technology Platform for Textile and Clothing,- Polish Technology Platform for Construction,- Polish Technology Platform for Aeronautic Moreover, 7 new Polish Technology Platforms were established: - Polish Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry,- Polish Technology Platform for Forestry Resources,- Polish Technology Platform for Water Transport,- Polish Technology Platform for Rail Transport,- Polish Technology Platform for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell,- Polish Technology Platform for Food,- Polish Technology Platform for Biotechnology The above list is not exhaustive as new Platforms are in preparation. Six will be created in the nearest future and the signing of common agreements was just the beginning of very ambitious plans. The participants of Technology Platforms will work on the priorities of the Polish Strategic Research Agenda which will then be included in the Polish Framework Programme and be Poland's contribution towards the European Strategic Research Agenda.
