Survey on emerging scientific and technological development

NEST-IDEA, a specific support action within the NEST activities which is financed by the European Commission has launched a survey to obtain an overview on emerging research domains in Europe. New deadline: February 15th, 2005.

The NEST activity (New and Emerging Science and Technology), a new initiative within the scope of the 6th Framework Programme lies on particularly innovative, visionary and unconventional projects, preferably in interdisciplinary fields. One goal of NEST-IDEA, a Specific Support Action (SSA) funded by NEST, is to identify new and emerging fiends of science and technology with the ERA (European Research Area) in order to support DG Research not only to prepare for the forthcoming calls but also to feed the debate on the future of the NEST Activity within the coming FP7. To reach this objective, a survey was launched in last January to obtain an overview about which institutions operate on emerging research domains and in what kind of scientific areas. Universities and Research institutes at the institutional level as well as their research teams at the individual level are kindly invited to take part in this online survey. Instructions on how to fill in the questionnaire are available on the NEST-IDEA website. The deadline, February 11th, 2005 has been postponed to February 15th, 2005.NEST-IDEA web site:,http://www.nest-idea.net NEST-IDEA survey (Research Intitutions & Universities):,http://www.nest-idea.net/questionnaire/institutions.html NEST-IDEA survey (Individuals, all interested):,http://www.nest-idea.net/questionnaire/researchers.html
