European Cycle on Innovation: EU FP6 Health/Food 4th last calls and SME participation
The event allowed research organisations, universities, SMEs, Industries, public institutions, etc., to meet and prepare the last calls for proposals of FP6 Thematic Priority 1, «Life Sciences, genomic and biotechnology for health», and Thematic Priority 5 «Food Quality and Safety». The 165 participants, including 20% of SMEs, had the opportunity, through the program organised in two parts - plenary session / parallel workshops, to get information on these two calls, to exchange directly with EC representatives and with the National Contact Points, to get practical advices on project preparation and management and finally to meet potential partners for future projects.,All the presentations held during the event (plenary session and workshops) are downloadable. Opportunities for partnerships in projects under preparation : During the specific workshop 1, i.e. the "Life sciences European partnering event, 21 SME competencies and projects under preparation looking for new SME partners in the fields of Biotechnology, Health and Agro-Food were presented. The PowerPoint presentations are now available on line. A catalogue of partner searches gathered within the organisation of the event is also available and includes not only projects presented in the workshop but also complementary competencies and partner searches that did not get the opportunity to be presented. The involvement of dedicated networks : The event was organised by French key actors of the FP6 in Life Sciences : the French NCP for TP1 (Inserm), TP5 (INRA) and SMEs (OSEO anvar) and the French Ministries of Research and Agriculture. ,Besides, European dedicated networks also contributed to the event : SMEsgoLifeSciences, SMEsforFOOD and Detect it were represented by OSEO anvar and cooperated with other dedicated networks such as Natibs, Finally a link was established with the Geneva event (June 29th) organised by Euresearch, by presenting opportunities for partnerships coming from Swiss SMEs at the Paris event. The outcome of the Paris event in terms of partnership opportunities will also be presented in Geneva.
