EU-US Information Technology Partenariat

EUROTEX, an EU-US Partenariat for small and medium sized enterprises in the high tech sector, will be held in Texas, USA, on 15 and 16 April 1999. The event will be organised by Eurochambres, the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Texas Department of Economic Development in the US. It will be supported by the European Commission within the framework of the TransAtlantic Small Business Initiative.

The objective of this event is to offer European and American firms from the high tech sector the opportunity to develop contacts which will lead to mutually beneficial collaboration. Through an interactive Website, companies will have the opportunity to make specific meeting requests in advance of the face-to-face meetings which will take place during the event.

Participants in the event will be small and medium sized enterprises interested in developing transatlantic partnerships. The broad emphasis will be on high tech industries, specifically in the following areas:

- Electronic commerce;
- Multimedia;
- Computer hardware and software;
- Information technology services;
- Telecommunications;
- Subassemblies and components;
- Factory automation and manufacturing.
