EXCITING holding a workshop during the IoT Week 2018

The H2020 project “EU-China Study on IoT and 5G” (EXCITING) will be holding a workshop on June 04, 2018 during the upcoming IoT Week 2018 in Bilbao, Spain. The session, titled 5G and IoT LSP European and Chinese Perspectives - EXCITING and F-Interop Joint Workshop, will focus on discussing the status, challenges and opportunities related to 5G and IoT, including in the domains of interoperability and standardisation priorities and best practices.

The H2020 project “EU-China Study on IoT and 5G” (EXCITING) will be holding a workshop during the upcoming IoT Week 2018 in Bilbao, Spain.

The session, titled 5G and IoT LSP European and Chinese Perspectives - EXCITING and F-Interop Joint Workshop, will focus on discussing the status, challenges and opportunities related to 5G and IoT, including in the domains of interoperability and standardisation priorities and best practices. Attention will be given to current and planned efforts for EU-China collaboration including through joint large scale pilots (LSPs). The session will include the presentation of several white papers being developed within the project, as well as the official public launch of the EXCITING PANORAMA tool, which is being proposed as the basis for future EU-China cooperation opportunities.

The workshop will have several speakers and presentations from Europe and China involved in the EXCITING project, including Yuming Ge (CAICT), Yang Yang (WICO), Georgios Karagiannis (Huawei/AIOTI) and Latif Ladid (Université du Luxembourg). Franck Boissière, Policy Coordinator & Programme Officer from the IoT Unit of the European Commission will also present his views on IoT within an EU-China cooperation perspective.
The workshop will be held on Monday June 04, 2018 from 16h45 to 19h00 in the Euskalduna Jauregia Conference Center (Sala Barria I).

The workshop is open to all participants and stakeholders interested in IoT and 5G, particularly those with interest in EU-China cooperation. We look forward to seeing you there!

EXCITING is a 24-month project (November 2016 to October 2018) that aims to study the research and innovation ecosystem for IoT and 5G in China and compare it with the European counterpart. The main objective of EXCITING is to support the creation of favourable conditions for cooperation between the European and Chinese research and innovation ecosystems, mainly related to the key strategic domains of IoT and 5G. The project involves eight European partners from Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Portugal, UK and six partners from China. EXCITING is funded by the European Commission and the Swiss and Chinese Governments.
