About the speaker:
The speaker of this edition is Ian Tracey, Head of Access to Funding and Finance at KTN (Knowledge Transfer Network). Ian is responsible for growing and developing KTN’s strategies for assisting innovative companies through the application and raising of finance – lending, grants, or equity based. Ian is the Secretary-General of HEPtech network at CERN.
Formerly, Ian Tracey was External Technology Transfer Lead at the Science and Technology Facilities Council, where he also co-created the UK Innovation Forum, to find the management required by UK research institutions to fill posts in their spinouts, or otherwise participate in the commercialisation of new technologies. He started his career at BT Research Labs, in Martlesham.

Ian Tracey in his description of storytelling: “I believe that storytelling is one of the most powerful ways to carry our message to the people we wish to influence. It is as old as human kind and we all have been using stories every day since we were born. Our minds know how to process stories, so that we can recall them – think about the use of parables to carry information over generations before Johannes Gutenberg. In this webinar, we will explore how we use the structure and form of the art of storytelling to convey facts and information to the audience so that it is remembered correctly and available when needed.
