For the last two years, HYDROPOWER EUROPE partners (https://hydropower-europe.eu/) have worked on a continuous consultation process through online consultations as well as regional and technical workshops. As a result, feedback from diverse stakeholders, including expert groups, industry actors and other interested parties was gathered.

The workshop is the last opportunity for stakeholders to participate in the consultation process and help in shaping recommendations on the following aspects of hydropower:

1. Policy and regulatory issues: Designing a supportive EU framework for the hydropower sector
2. Technical challenges and research and innovation priorities: Developing innovative concepts and technologies to boost hydropower potential
3. Environmental issues: Best practices and solutions to make hydropower energy more environmentally-friendly
4. Social issues: Bridging the gap between industry and civil society

The participation of all the stakeholders is key to ensure the representation of diverse opinions and transparent public debate on the future of hydropower, especially how can hydropower contribute to a successful clean energy transition!
