PHINDaccess Webinar series On Developing an Institutional Intellectual Property Policy and Learning from Tech Transfer Concrete Success Stories

Coordinated by IPT, the PHINDaccess project aims to serve as a lever for research performance in the field of omics at the Institut Pasteur in Tunis, to strengthen its positioning as a center of excellence. Through this project, the IPT aims to develop its capacities to operate the potential of genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data generated in its research activities.

In the framework of Work package 6 (WP6) “Unleashing IPT’s full potential for an efficient translational research” PHINDaccess has organized a webinar series on Developing an Institutional Intellectual Property Policy and Learning from Tech Transfer Concrete Success Stories. These webinars are co-organized with Institut Pasteur de Tunis, Centre for Genomic Regulation, Barcelona, Spain, and Institut Pasteur Paris. This event was held in Institut Pasteur de Tunis from November 17th to December 15th, 2020.

The main topic is to share insights on how they will implement an IP policy in a public health Institute.

During the 5 webinars, several specific themes related to the objectives of the project were discussed:
Webinar 1: How to implement an IP Policy in a Public Health Institute.
Webinar 2: IP Policy and strategy for promoting innovation: Experience of Tech Transfer professionals.
Webinar 3: IP Policy implementation: WRAP-UP and recommendations.
Webinar 4:SPIN-OFF / START-UP creation: learning from concrete success stories.
Webinar 5: Accelerator of Technology Transfer: Experiences from Institut Pasteur and center for Genomic Regulation or of Technology Transfer: Experiences from Institut Pasteur and center for Genomic Regulation.

More than 250 people from several types of institutions (research centers, universities, start-ups, decision-makers, etc.) have attended these webinars.
