A conference on electronic trading, and the opportunities it offers to small companies, will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 19-20 September 1996. The conference is organized by the European Information Technology Association (EITA), in conjunction with its annual general assembly, and supported by DG III of the European Commission.

The conference will consider the implications and the impact upon smaller companies of the Internet and the World Wide Web, and will detail the many opportunities which are available. Topics to be covered include:

- Creating opportunities for the development of business through electronic trading;
- New sources of finance through the European Union;
- Further opportunities under the Community's Fourth RTD Framework Programme.
