22 June 1998 - 22 June 1998
United Kingdom
The fourth International Symposium on Environmental Biotechnology will be held in Belfast, United Kingdom, from 22 to 27 June 1998. For the first time, the symposium will be held in Europe, organized by the International Society for Environmental Biotechnology (ISEB) and the Northern Ireland Innovation Relay Centre (IRC).

The symposium will address the role of biotechnology as a means of addressing environmental pollution problems naturally, ranging from identification of biohazards to bioremediation techniques for industrial, agricultural and municipal effluents and residues. It will also address the role of biotechnology for the development of products in the identification and treatment of non-hazardous non-polluting wastes.

The symposium will be built around presentations which will convey the latest research and development thinking from around the world.
