An International Workshop organized by the National Research Council of Canada in conjunction with the London Economic Development Corporation, techalliance, and the Department of Foreign Affairs, International Trade.
NRC is the Government of Canadas leading resource for scientific research, development, and technology-based innovation. NRCs outstanding people help turn ideas and knowledge into new products, processes and services, creating value for Canada.
NRCs Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Institute (IMTI) has long recognized the value of international collaborations with innovative companies, universities and research organizations to assist in the dissemination of knowledge to companies worldwide.
In todays knowledge-based economy, innovation is crucial in the development of new products and production technologies. The implementation of leading edge technologies can provide companies with a unique advantage required to remain competitive in the global market place.
The Workshops goal is to provide a forum for technology providers, manufacturing executives, strategic planners and decision makers to share innovative strategies relevant to manufacturing technologies for the automotive industry. This workshop will focus on the following themes:
- Supply chain management,- Emerging manufacturing processes and technologies,- Product development strategies,- New vehicle concepts,- Enterprise planning and control
Authors are invited to submit extended summaries of their presentations for review by January 31, 2003 electronically or by FAX. The information should include the title of the proposed presentation, author's names and affiliations, postal address, phone and FAX numbers, and e-mail address of the contact author.
Notification of acceptance will be sent out to authors by February 15, 2003. Authors of accepted presentations are expected to register to the Workshop and deliver the lecture. The working language of the workshop is English.
