Banff Television Festival - IST-EC Partnering Event

Partnering session put on by the IST Europe-Canada (IST-EC) - which seeks to increase Canada-Europe R&D collaboration in the IST area. The session will take place during the Banff Television Festival.

What is IST-EC?,The IST-EC project connects the European and Canadian research community in key areas of IST (Information Society Technologies). IST is a major theme of research and technological development within the European Union's RTD 5th and 6th Framework Programme. IST-EC is itself a collaborative project between the European Union and Canada with the goal to foster the cooperation between the two regions.
The goal of IST-EC is to create co-operative participation in comparable Canadian and European R&D programs, with a focus on the domains of e-work, e-learning, e-commerce, e-culture and e-media.

Content and Media for the Digital Age,During the Banff Television Festival, Banff 2003, http://www.banff2003.com/(opens in new window) IST-EC partners are organizing a "Partnership Session" on Tuesday, June 10. This session will bring together researchers, content creators, multi-media experts and e-learning champions from Canada and Europe and provide a forum where innovative projects will be presented. At the conclusion of the presentations, an informal one-on-one networking opportunity will be available, followed by a reception.
Why You Should Participate,The Partnering Session will:,- Identify European and Canadian projects in the e-content, e-learning and e-media fields ,- Allow for discussion on potential collaboration ,- Information exchange on Europe's 6th Framework Programme,- Meet and establish contacts for international partnerships from research, SME's and industry,- Learn what the EU and Canadian support mechanisms and funding opportunities that are available,- Catalogue of company profiles will be compiled and presented to each attendee
