EU funding for research and development - Industry Information Day

An Industry Information Day on EU funding for research and development will be held in Bournemouth, United Kingdom, on 29 May 1998. The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the funding opportunities which will be available for SMEs when the EU Fifth Framework Programme enters into force.

The event is organized by Grant Assist, an initiative established by the Bournemouth and Poole College of Further Education, and Business Location Services Ltd. Participants in the event will be addressed by representatives from Grant Assist (Horizontal CRAFT focal point for the South-west of England), BETA Technology Ltd (UK National Focal Point for the CRAFT programme), the Bournemouth Innovation Relay Centre, and Mr. Bryan Cassidy, local Member of the European Parliament. The following topics will be covered:

- European research overview;
- The Grant Assist initiative;
- The future of the Cooperative Research (CRAFT) scheme under the Fifth Framework Programme;
- Finding partners;
- The support offered by the Bournemouth Innovation Relay Centre;
- Guest speeches from CRAFT participants (Industrial partners from Spain and UK).
