Workshop on Super Smart Production and Completion Systems

A workshop on Super Smart Production and Completion Systems will be held in Aberdeen, UK, on 21 April 1998. The event is organized by the Centre for Marine and Petroleum Technology (CMPT) in collaboration with Scottish Enterprise, with support from the European Commission.

Super Smart Production and Completion Systems is one of the CMPT's technology initiatives for 1998. Such systems are designed to undertake both reservoir condition monitoring and management. The aim of the workshop is to study these systems and to identify the technology gaps that need to be addressed. It should initiate cross-industry discussion and identify new concepts for collaborative research and development.

The workshop will address challenges faced by the hydrocarbons industry in the use of technology in reservoirs. The factors which affect production efficiency and the effective use of data produced will also be discussed. Presentations from key industry and research organizations will be followed by a discussion amongst all participants.
