Join us to examine our theme of time and space in all its forms, from exploring the cosmos, to the science of ageing, from looking at our planet's past to its possible future.
The Festival brings you high-profile names and leading scientists including Britain's most recent Nobel Laureate, Paul Nurse, astronomer Martin Rees, and bestselling author and broadcaster Susan Greenfield. We are also pleased to welcome back Simon Singh, the irrepressible Adam Hart-Davis and leading chef Heston Blumenthal.
A hallmark of the Festival is the opportunity to discuss issues that matter. Hot topics for this year include organic food, alternative medicine and the future of the health service. The Festival again offers a packed family programme including, Robot Wars' Noel Sharkey, inventor Trevor Baylis and the science of Harry Potter.
The Discover Zone, our interactive science space which is based in the Town Hall with free entry, also returns, including live Robot Wars, MadLab and a unique trip through time.,
