The Malta Council for Science and Technology invites you to a half-day information event intended to explain the European Commissions proposals for the second call of research support in IST that comes into effect on the 17 June 2003. Integrated Projects and Networks of Excellence are the new instruments of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) through which the Commission channels research funding, and during this event participants will learn how these funding mechanisms will operate in practice. Practical help will also be given for those who wish to join research consortia or find partners for their own proposal.
As well as this new call, an information brief on the current call of the eContent initiative will be given.
Benefits of taking part in the IST and eContent Programmes include:, , the sharing of project risks and costs shared between successful participants and the European Commission;, the commercial exploitation of results and other Intellectual Property Rights accruing from project collaboration;, opportunities to influence the Commissions policy and development of standards;, making contacts with partners in Europe that can facilitate access to new markets through a better understanding of,European business in the Single Market.
Eligible participants,All legal entities are eligible including large companies and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) alike, although smaller SMEs in particular will need to recognise that participation is resource-intensive, expensive and highly competitive. Research and educational organisations, public sector bodies, and non-profit making and charity organisations are also eligible.
