Science based IP Management

The Association of European Science and Technology Transfer Professionals (ASTP) is organising its fourth Seminar on Science Based Intellectual Property Management on (Wednesday the 5th), Thursday the 6th and Friday the 7th of November 2003 at Hotel Europa, Bologna, Italy.

Plenary sessions led by expert speakers from Europe as well as the US will cover a wide range of subjects. These speakers will share their experiences on how to manage IP, protecting patents etc.
Key themes of this event will be:,- Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights,- Introduction to Patent Rights,- Safeguarding IP,- Capturing IP,- Managing IP,- Appraising Technologies,- The Technology Transfer Death Spiral and ways to recover before you crash,- 'Dirty little tricks in Licensing' (Negotiation tactics),- Adding Value to IP: structuring license agreements - business models to enforce or not to enforce,- Final debate on Bundling technology, a useful role for a TTO ?
Preceding the conference ASTP offers an optional social program on Wednesday afternoon with a visit to a Science Park combined with a guided tour among the highlights of Bologna.
The event will attract around 150 people related to technology transfer within Europe and outside.
