BMD : Invitation to the International FIDIS symposium, September 25-26, 2003

The symposium will include a presentation of FIDIS, the biological diagnostics system developed by BMD and designed around Luminex technology. Using multiplex technology, FIDIS represents a technological breakthrough in diagnostics testing and drastically reduces the time taken to carry out autoimmune diagnostics procedures.
FIDIS is currently available in four kits, responding to some of the most common laboratory requirements:
- FIDIS Connective (9 tests): for connective tissue disease ,- FIDIS Thyroid (2 tests): for diseases of the thyroid ,- FIDIS Rheumatoid (2 tests): for rheumatoid arthritis ,- FIDIS Celiac (3 tests): for celiac disease
Two further kits will soon be available from BMD.
The symposium will be of particular interest to laboratory managers from both private and public laboratories of all sizes. Independent biologists from across Europe will present their own assessment analyses of FIDIS, carried out since the product's launch.

,About FIDIS(TM):
FIDIS(TM) is a novel high-throughput diagnostics system designed around Luminex's xMAP technology. FIDIS transforms traditional organizational concepts in laboratories by radically simplifying and accelerating processes. FIDIS and the FIDIS assay kits enable multiple autoimmune diagnostics tests to be carried out simultaneously and at high speed. Until now, laboratories have only been able to carry out tests manually or using automated monoparametric machines. Multiplex technology improves laboratory practices, but then requires from the manufacturer additional developments to make it easy to use in routine. FIDIS is unique in creating a single procedure and a universal calibrator (Universal Protocol(TM), Universal Calibrator(TM)) that enable simultaneous testing for diseases on multiple kits.
