Germany
An Information Day on the recent calls for proposals launched by the Commission within the trans-European telecommunications networks programme (TEN-TELECOM) will be held in Mülheim, Germany, on 21 April 1998. The event is organized by ZENIT, the Innovation Relay Centre for North Rhine Westphalia.

The event will focus on the second and third TEN-TELECOM calls, launched by the Commission on 14 March 1998. These are: a major call for generic services and applications (which closes on 15 June 1998), and a rolling call for support and coordination actions (which remains open until 31 December 2000).

The main elements of the Information Day will be:

- A view of the TEN-TELECOM programme from the German Federal Ministries involved in the field;
- Presentation from the Commission on the programme, and the procedures for participation;
- Experiences from successful applicants;
- The support available from the ZENIT IRC to applicants;
- An open discussion, where participants will have the chance to present their project ideas.
