A half day workshop in Brussels to explore web based communication and management systems for FP6 Integrated Projects and Networks of Excellence

Virtual Business Network (VBN), Cambridge, UK is offering a half day practical workshop for R&D managers and project partners likely to be involved in the implementation of an FP6 project on the use of web-based platforms for the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) Integrated Projects and Networks of Excellence.
The coordination and management of FP6 projects presents new challenges to project consortia and the event will explore how web-based platforms can be used as a powerful tool to facilitate the management of:-,· the communication and information sharing within the consortium;,· the flow of knowledge generated by the project;,· the dissemination of knowledge generated by the project to a wider community.
The event is targeted towards research and development managers and project participants across Europe, and will focus on the following key areas:-,· the new challenges for project management in the implementation of FP6 integrated projects and networks of excellence; ,· how web based tools can make a significant contribution to the management and impact of FP6 integrated projects and networks of excellence;,· the desired functionality of web based platforms in FP6 projects;,· a review of web-based tools which are currently available and a demonstration of a developed system.
The workshop will be delivered by Dr Simon Elliott, VBN Cambridge UK who will draw on his extensive background of providing e-Community platforms to major research organisations across Europe.
Dates
The half day workshop will be held in Brussels from 0930 - 1400 on Wednesday 8th October 2003.
Venue
The venue will be the conference facilities of CENELEC in the Centre of Brussels. Full details will be provided upon confirmation of registration.
Costs
The cost of the workshop is 90 euro which includes a buffet/sandwich lunch and refreshments. Numbers for the workshop will be strictly limited, so you are advised to book early.
