Third European conference on Multimedia Applications, Services and Techniques

ECMAST'98, the third European conference on Multimedia Applications, Services and Techniques, will be held in Berlin, Germany, from 26 to 28 May 1998. The conference will be sponsored by the European Commission, under the Advanced Communications Technologies and Services (ACTS) programme.

The objective of ECMAST'98 is to provide a forum to monitor and anticipate the development of technologies that make distributed multimedia applications possible. The topics to be covered at the conference include, but will not be limited to:

- Production and creation of multimedia content;
- Coded representation of images, sound and data;
- Multimedia networks and protocols;
- Multimedia delivery on broadcast and telecom networks;
- Servers and storage architectures;
- Advanced multimedia terminals and in-house networks;
- Multimedia services;
- Internet in the multimedia scenario;
- Multimedia market and regulatory aspects;
- Multimedia trials.
