International Forum on MicroNano Integration

In recent years, micro- and nanotechnologies have become key technologies with a significant effect on the development of new products and production methods. Moreover, due to their enormous potential for new applications, micro- and nanotechnologies in the future will increasingly affect our every day life, with an impact comparable to that of the industrial revolution in the 19th century or the developments in microelectronics in the 20th century.
The International Forum on MicroNano Integration addresses micro- and nanotechnologies with a strong focus on synergy effects given by combination and mutual integration of both technologies. Hence, the International Forum on MicroNano Integration will provide a forum for researchers of these two communities - from industries as well as from research institutes - for contacting, exchange and starting common research activities. The International Forum on MicroNano Integration will cover a broad range of basic technology aspects with a strong focus on applications.
In most cases, micro- and nanotechnology go hand in hand: nanotechnology devices need an implementation into a microtechnology environment, working as a link to the macroscopic world. On the other hand, microsystems benefit from novel functionality given by nanotechnology components.
The International Forum on MicroNano Integration will include oral presentations and a poster session. In order to enhance technology transfer from institutes to industry on a transnational and interdisciplinary level, a pre-arranged meeting service will be organized.
