Biotechnology in Agroindustry

Symposium and Technology Transfer Innovation Day taking place at the Hotel Jolly Sablon in Brussels on November 24, 2003

24 November 2003
Belgium
The reality of the EU as well as of the long processes which have led to present day developments in the European construction have convinced many scientists that it is necessary to open a debate with the society at large on the issues raised by their own research work but also to contribute to the exchange of already applied methodologies and investigate the way to concentrate the efforts toward practical applications. This is true in particular in the field of Biotechnology application to agro industry.
In Italy, research activities in agro industry and biotechnologies applications have been considerably developing in the last fifteen years.
The agro-biotechnologies encompass several methods, although the public opinion has been focussing mostly onto the advanced ones.
This Symposium and Technology Transfer and Innovation Day aims at raising the knowledge and awareness of already current and used rapid propagation methodologies as well as promoting the meeting between involved actors which are interested in transferring or in acquiring these techniques and introducing new perspectives for using more advanced ones.
The seminar is addressed to applied biotechnology in Agroindustry (fruit, flower and horticulture) and is associated with meetings among Italian as well as foreign researchers and companies.
