Technology Transfer (TT) Workshop at the ESRF

The European synchrotron radiation facility (ESRF) is organising a workshop on Technology Transfer to improve the efficiency of Technology Transfer policies in European research centers and to enable institutes to talk together on the issue: learning both from each other and from Technology Transfer experts.

2 February 2004

The ESRF in Grenoble (France) is currently working on the themes of Technology Transfer and the Framework Programmes of the EEC as are many other European institutes.,Technology Transfer is a current issue for institutes who want to bring academic research closer to the needs of European society.
Technology Transfer is a complex, long-term process set up between a research institute and a private company. It requires scientific, legal and human skills that are essential to start, maintain and continue to develop a Technology Transfer relationship. These skills are not necessarily all available within the same department of a research institute.
In order to improve the efficiency of Technology Transfer policies and to enable institutes to talk together on this issue, to learn both from each other and from Technology Transfer experts, the ESRF is organising a workshop on Technology Transfer.,Proposed themes: ,(1) Preparing the ground for the Technology Transfer ,(2) The Technology Transfer assessment ,(3) Life after the Technology Transfer: making it last
We invite managers of scientific institutes, EU experts, research laboratories involved in industrial collaboration, scientists, IP specialists, commercial and communication managers to attend this one-day workshop that will take place at the ESRF on Monday 2 February 2004.
