ISIC'98, an international conference on information seeking in context will be held in Sheffield, United Kingdom, from 13 to 15 August 1998. The conference is organized by the University of Sheffield and will build on and develop the themes debated at the first ISIC conference, held in Tampere, Finland, in August 1996.

The aim of the conference is to discuss information needs, and information seeking and use. It will also offer the opportunity to see the results of the latest research in the information seeking field, to debate methodological issues, and to identify areas for further research.

The topics to be covered at the conference will include, but are not limited to:

- Information behaviour and electronic environments;
- Information requirements and information systems design;
- Theoretical and methodological issues;
- Information seeking in education, business and health sectors;
- Longitudinal studies.
