Exhibition on environmental equipment and technology

The Innovation Relay Centres for Rhône Alpes/Auvergne and Paris/Ile de France, and the Chamber of Commerce in Lyon are organizing a two-day "inverted fair" entitled "Wanted: Environmental Technologies". This will take place within the framework of POLLUTEC'98, an exhibition dedicated to environmental equipment and technology services for industry and local authorities, which will be held in Lyon, France, from 3 to 6 November 1998.
This "inverted fair" will concentrate on requests for technology, rather than offers, and will set up meetings between large companies who are looking for specific environmental technologies and smaller companies who may have developed them. These meetings are open to any European companies. The inverted fair uses the following methodology:
- Themes of interest and needs identified by major companies;
- Presentation of skills by SMEs in response to the needs and interests of the larger companies;
- On the basis of the competences offered, the larger companies select the SMEs with whom they would like to meet at the fair;
- An appointment schedule is given to each participant one week before the meeting;
- The meetings will take place during the fair in complete confidentiality.
The Environment Thematic Group of the Innovation Relay Centres network will also assist in the preparation of the event to ensure widespread participation from across Europe.
