2nd World Conference and Exhibition on Biomass

ETA-Florence and WIP-Munich are organizing the 2nd World Conference and Technology Exhibition on Biomass for Energy, Industry and Climate Protection.

The event, which will be held at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome from 10 to 14 May 2004, with the support of the European Commission, the DOE U.S. Department of Energy, UNEP-United Nations Environment Programme and the Italian Ministry of Environment, as well as Natural Resources Canada, IEA Bioenergy, FAO and EUBIA European Biomass Industry Association.
Five days during which the subject of biomass will offer an excellent opportunity to discuss energy, energy sustainability, the possibilities for technological development and the reduction of climate impacts, by providing a space for experts from all over the world to gather and exchange know-how from their most successful experiences in the field.
This international event comprises sessions dedicated to the state-of-the-art development in biomass evaluation technologies; poster sessions on the research, development, demonstrations and commercial projects in the field; as well as exhibition of conversion and exploitation products and technologies; thematic workshops and one conference day dedicated to Italy. In whole, an opportunity to evaluate the role played by biomass in the global process to reduce the impacts that human activity is having on our planet.
Prizes and Awards,The Organisers of the 2nd World Conference on Biomass will for the second time award the David Hall World Prize for Biomass. Prof. Hall was one of the worlds leading pioneers in the promotion of Bioenergy.
The European Linneborn Prize, named in honor of Johannes Linneborn, a pioneer of wood gasification, will be awarded for the sixth time, in recognition of major contributions to the development of energy from Biomass.
The foremost visual presentations in each of the technical areas will furthermore be presented with a Poster Award and the Biomass Junior Award will be awarded to an outstanding initiative taken in the Biomass sector.
In addition, the Board of Directors of EUBIA European Biomass Industry Association, will for the third time hand out the EUBIA Exhibitor Award for outstanding advancements in the Biomass Industry.
ETA,ETA operates in the development, application and implementation of Renewable Energies systems and has built up a sound and wideranging experience in the RE sector on a European and international scale.,ETA provides direct services to Governmental authorities, Regional entities, Municipalities, Industries and Institutes in Technological Development, and is included in the list of organisations qualified to assist the European Commission in activities of dissemination, publication and evaluation of scientific results, as well as monitoring European projects.,ETA organises numerous events of a technological, scientific and dissemination-related nature in the field of Renewable Energy, on a regional, national, European and International, and is the author and editor scientific texts in the fields of Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development.,ETA is a founding member of EUBIA (European Biomass Industry Association) and associate in the Florence Energy Agency.
WIP,WIP, founded in Munich in 1968, operates in the field of planning and developing of projects, as well as monitoring and installing systems in the sectors of Renewable Energy sources and environmental technologies.,WIP, realizes with the help of its staff of technical experts and through its international partnerships a large number of projects on a small and large scale for the private, industrial and public sectors, on a national and international level.,WIP is a member of the European Photovoltaic, Wind Energy and Biomass Associations, EPIA, EWEA and EUBIA. It is a founding member of EUREC - European Association of Renewable Energy Research Centres and has collaborated for years with IEA within the Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme.
