26 June 2004 - 16 July 2004
France
The University, which organised two previous summer schools in 2002 and 2003, has succeeded again in receiving the official Seal of Approval by the French Ministry of Education.
The objective of this European Summer University is to increase the awareness of the students about the importance of innovation to the economy, as well as about the role that business intelligence plays in a company as the catalyst of innovation.
The programme, which combines both theoretical and practical sessions, will consist of three main parts:
- Courses imparted by speakers from different nationalities specialists in the domain;
- Final project on research of information on an innovative project applied to one of the SMEs of the Normandy region. The final project will be followed by a Forum composed by the SMEs, the local technological advisers and the students that have participated in the project in order to promote the exchange between the students and the regional business actors;
- Conference on the internal market and the enlargement to the European Union that will take place in Paris. The courses will be taught in English or French according to the nationality of the lecturer.
The training course will provide students an insight overview on innovation and business intelligence, and at the same time, will offer them the possibility to relate this knowledge to the economic sector of the Normandy region.
The total cost for the 3-week period is 300 euros (100 for the students from Eastern European countries). This amount includes not only the tuition, but also accommodation, breakfasts and lunches, local transportation, excursions to technical and cultural visits and the practice of various nautical activities
