High level event on stimulating SME participation in FP6

The European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN) is organizing a once-off seminar on DETECT-IT -Stimulating SME participation in FP6 on March 25th/26th in Brussels.

This high-level seminar, which includes presentations from the Commissioner for Research Philippe Busquin and the Senior Vice-President of Procter & Gamble Dr. Nabil Sakkab, is aimed at stimulating industry and intermediary action to increase SME participation in Sixth Framework Research Programmes. In addition to speakers from the European Commission and various support organizations such as the National Contact Points (NCPs) and the EC Business Innovation Centres (BICs), the DETECT-IT seminar will hear first hand accounts of SME participation in Fifth and Sixth Framework Programmes. The SME experiences will be balanced with testimonials from large corporates such as BT and Gaz de France who have introduced innovative approaches to working with high tech SMEs.
This seminar is being organized within the framework of the DETECT-IT project. DETECT-IT is an Economic and Technological Intelligence (ETI) project supported by the European Commission 6th Framework Programme. The project mobilises forty-two partners from 15 European countries to identify opportunities for over 1000 SMEs to participate in EC research projects. IST, Food safety & quality and Sustainable Energy and environment are the main target sectors of DETECT-IT.
The seminar DETECT-IT -Stimulating SME participation in FP6 will be of interest to FP6 project leaders, large and small companies and researchers active in the IST, Food safety & quality and Sustainable Energy and environment sectors.
