Conference: Commercialization of Micro- and Nano-Systems

The 9th International Conference on the Commercialization of Micro- and Nano-Systems (COMS2004) will take place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, from August 29 to September 2, 2004.

The conference will be hosted by the Micro- and Nanotechnology Commercialization Education (MANCEF) in association with NanoMEMS Edmonton, and the Greater Edmonton region smalltech cluster organization. A call for papers has been issued on the conferences website, as well as information on registration (http://www.mancef-coms2004.org(opens in new window)).
The Program, soon to be published, will include presentations, discussions, and panels by leaders in the fields of industry, government, research and finance. Sessions will mainly focus on technology commercialization, covering the following topics:
- Standards, reliability and packaging,- The role of venture capital,- Role of universities and governments in commercial development,- Cost and financial modeling,- Strategic management,- Implications for education and training
