2nd Annual Brussels Climate Change Conference

EU Conferences, in partnership with CEPS, have constructed a high-calibre event, which comprehensively covers the Brussels position on climate change.

11 May 2004 - 12 May 2004

This conference takes stock of recent EU and international developments and will give the attendee a well grounded knowledge of the existing climate change policies and the negotiation structure, as well as how the carbon markets work and their benefits. On the one hand it will review the recent EU initiatives, such as the latest EU policy developments, implementation of the EU emissions trading scheme and potential impacts on the industrial and power sector. On the other, it will examine the approaches and policies of the EU's main trading such as the US, Japan, Canada, Russia or Australia. In particular, this will contain an evaluation of the emerging carbon markets, including overall size, liquidity, price levels etc.
The topics will be addressed by top-level representatives of EU institutions such as the Commission or the Parliament) and national EU and non-EU governments (such as from the US, Japan, Russia), senior business executives from leading international companies as well as the rapidly emerging carbon market service industry.
