Gorizia - Nova Gorica Joint crossborder spatial planning conference

During this confernece two initiatives will be presented:
The first is entitled "Trans Plan - Joint crossborder Spatial Planning" which aims at broadening the study of planning instruments currently in use both in Italy and Slovenia. Furthermore identifying possible similarities and common ground regarding future types of joint crossborder spatial planning by using mutually compatible instruments.
The second initiative is entitled "Gorizia Nova Model Plan - Model for the sustainable development of borders areas: the Gorizia - Nova Gorica urban area as a model for Europe". It is a geo-economic and spatial analysis of the integration and urban extension of the cities of Gorizia (Italy) and Nova Gorica (Slovenia).
The symbolic value of this work relates to the present Enlargement RTD mainstreaming and to the future cohesion debate.
