In the context of the next deadline (26 October 2004) of the 3rd call for proposals for indirect RTD actions under the specific programme for research, technological development and demonstration: 'Integrating and strengthening the European Research Area', sub-priority 1.1.6.3 Global Change and Ecosystems", the European Commission (Directorate General for Research) is organising an INFORMATION DAY, on 9 July 2004 in BRUSSELS, concerning topic II.1.1.1 (Assessing the vulnerability of global water resources to environmental change) of Area 6.3.II (Water cycle, including soil-related aspects).,Under this topic, the Commission has launched an ambitious activity for an Integrated Project, aiming to build up a platform for long-term RTD support in assessing the vulnerability of global water resources, strengthening the capacity of European research and supporting the various related international activities.,The objective of this Information Day is to present the related topic covered in the work programme and provide opportunities for networking among potential proposers. To this end, participants will have the opportunity to discuss research gaps and give very short outline presentations on project ideas and/or on networking opportunities. Overview information on related ongoing EC funded activities will be given. Since the call aims to strengthen the capacity of European research on the global water cycle, related national and international activities will also be illustrated.
