Present situation and Forecasts of Nanotechnology in: Materials, Health and Medical Systems and Energy

The International Conference will be held in Rome (Italy) from November 4th to 5th, 2004, and will present the first results of the Nanoroadmap (NRM) project.

4 November 2004 - 5 November 2004
Czechia
NRM, co-funded by the European Commission within the VI Framework Programme (FP6), has started in January 2004 with the objective to provide coherent scenarios and technology roadmaps for the application of nanotechnology that will help the European players, both in public institutions and industry, to optimise their efforts in the three selected areas (material, health and medical systems, energy), by 2014.
The Conference, organised by AIRI/Nanotec IT, will cover the following topics:,- Nanotechnology in the world today: national activities, policies and initiatives; ,- Present situation and forecasts of nanotechnology and its applications in: materials, health and medical services, energy; ,- Panel discussion on the future roadmapping exercise.
Several well known experts from both the research and industrial community are expected to participate, illustrating their activity to enrich the debate. A dedicated poster session will offer further opportunities to present recent developments and applications of nanotechnology in the three fields.
The Conference is an excellent opportunity from representatives of industry (researchers in first place, but not only), public research institutions and Universities (professors and students), public bodies, planners, associations (industrial and professional), the financial community, to obtain a clear overview of nanotechnology in the above three fields. The Conference will give not only a review of the present situation in these areas, but also indication on how they are expected to evolve in the short-mid terms to highligth relevant future growth opportunities. The NRM project will provide key input for the definition of the future FP7 in the area of nanotechnology. For this reason, the Conference also offers a great opportunity for those who want to have their voice heard in this process.
The official language will be English.Nanoroadmap is conducted by an International Consortium formed by eight leading organisations representing eight European countries and Israel.,Co-ordinator:,AIRI/Nanotec IT
Partners:,Institute of Nanotechnology (UK) ,MATIMOP (IL),Technology Centre (CZ),VDI/VDE (DE),VTT (FI),Willems & van den Wildenberg (ES, NL),Yole Developpement (FR)
