The ENABLE-AGE Final Conference - "Housing matters in old age - Setting Findings from the ENABLEAGE Project into Context"

With this conference, held on 9 December 2004 at the Lund University in Sweden, we aim at highlighting the potential of using housing in old age as a cross-cutting theme to understand ageing in context from a diversity of perspectives.

9 December 2004 - 9 December 2004
Sweden
The importance of housing has not been subject to rigorous empirical research attention so far, especially concerning relationships between housing and health among very old persons living alone at home. Although this is an old theme in ageing research, based on the findings from the ENABLE-AGE project we will provide new insights into key areas closely related to the research topic of housing such as environmental gerontology, occupational therapy, rehabilitation research, geriatrics, societal planning, architecture, etc. In this conference, presentations from the ENABLE-AGE project will be reflected upon and discussed by acknowledged, invited scholars. In order to set our findings into context, senior researchers involved in related projects will present and discuss their findings. Finally, young scientists involved in the ENABLE-AGE project or related projects will have posters at display. The project is partly funded by the EC.
