A seminar on cultivating food technology will be held in Totnes, United Kingdom, on 28 May 1998. The seminar will be organized by the South West England Innovation Relay Centre (IRC) in order to raise awareness, within the agrofood and food processing sectors, of the number of opportunities to be gained through the promotion and exploitation of transnational technologies. It will also highlight some of the benefits derived as a result of the technology transfer process.

This morning seminar will address the following topics:

- The Food Technology Centre: the helping hand to industry;
- Successfully transferring technology from Europe;
- Sourcing vital ingredients from Europe;
- Sowing the seeds for food research;
- Short presentations from members of the Innovation Relay Centre Network, of success stories, new technologies or opportunities.

Participants may also visit a technology exhibition and meet members of the IRC Agrofood Thematic Group.
