Mobility: making the most of the Research Area
The Conference of Rectors and its Foundation, considering its long tradition in the field of academic research and international mobility, have been nominated by the Ministry of Research as the Italian co-ordinator of the ERA-MORE initiative. ERA-MORE (European Network of Mobility Centres) is an EU activity aimed to create tools and services for assisting mobile researchers in the countries which adhere to the initiative.
The meeting in Rome is a follow-up of the launch of the European network which took place in Paris last June in the presence of the then EU Commissioner for Research, Mr. Busquin, and its aim is to present to the Italian public the Italian portal and mobility centres, created within the frame of the European network.
Further topics under discussion during the meeting on the 12th of January will be the advantages, obstacles and mechanisms of international and intersectorial mobility, together with all relevant organisations - universities, public and private research centres, enterprises.
In the morning there will be a round table centering on international and intersectoral mobility and a presentation of the Mobility Centre network and portal. In the afternoon, the participants will receive explanations on the use of the database of the European research mobility portal, followed by a public debate on research mobility involving speakers from different backgrounds, in an attempt to identify good practices and critical aspects.
