Australasian society of clinical immunology and allergy (ASCIA)

The ASCIA annual scientific meeting 2005 will be held in Queenstown, New Zealand on 31 August - 4 September 2005. The theme for this Meeting is excellence in clinical and laboratory immunology.

The Meeting will be divided into two sections, the ASCIA 2005 meeting which will run for two and a half days, followed by the Queenstown Immunopathology Program (QIP 2005). The meetings have been held sequentially in order to allow delegates to attend both programs. The,laboratory meeting will be held over the weekend.
The emphasis in the first part of the conference will be on clinical practice, while the Immunopathology meeting will cover many aspects of diagnostic laboratory practive including allergy, primary immunodeficiency and autoimmunity.

The main roles of ASCIA are to:
- promote the highest standards of scientific and medical practice and education amongst its members
- provide advice and representation to government departments and other professional organisations
- liaise with relevant lay organisations
- promote research and clinical trials
- coordinate education programmes for its members, other health professionals and the public.
