ESPC'98, the fifth European Space Power conference and exhibition will be held in Tarragona, Spain, from 21 to 25 September 1998. The event is organized by the European Space Agency and follows on from the series of conferences which commenced in 1989 and which combined the two separate annual technical fora, the Spacecraft Power Conditioning Seminar and the Photovoltaic Generators in Space Symposium.

The conference will cover many aspects related to spacecraft power systems within a single event and will aim to ensure that participants are aware of the interactive nature of their specific disciplines. The conference will cover a wide range of topics ranging from photovoltaic power generation to power conditioning and distribution, and will cover other issues such as high voltage conversion and related design technology.

The conference will consist of a series of presentations from representatives of industry, academia and research worldwide. The presentations will fall under the following topics:

- Lithium batteries;
- Converters topologies;
- Converters for power subsystems;
- Solar cells;
- Modelling and controllers;
- Application spacecraft power systems;
- Arrays and modules;
- Solid state power controller and power distribution concepts;
- Advanced power system concepts and modelling;
- High voltage and motor drives;
- Tests and flight data;
- Payload converters and control;
