An international conference on nuclear reactors will be held in Bonn, Germany, on 5 November 1998. The event is organized by the German Nuclear Society (KTG).

The aim of the conference is to present the innovative concept of a boiling water reactor, the SWR-1000. The conference is due to cover the following topics:

- The basic technical concept of the SWR 1000;
- Safety requirements for new reactors;
- The safety concept of the SWR 1000;
- Probabilistic evaluations;
- Management of severe accidents;
- The economics of the SWR 1000: An outlook;
- International cooperation;
- Experimental verifications of the passive safety installations;
- Results of the PANDA test facility;
- Results of the NOKO test facility;
- Development of new reactors and the importance to maintain competence in nuclear technology;
- Conclusions.
