The European Commission has launched the project EcTIST (http://www.ectist.com(opens in new window)) aimed at increasing the number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) participating in the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6).
As an answer to several factors curbing SMEs' innovation and RTD activities, the EcTIST project will provide SMEs with information, support and guidance. This will enable SMEs to obtain the necessary research resources and to adopt a long term vision strategy. Moreover, the project is aimed at presenting benefits and opportunities for SMEs in RTD and innovation, and at supplying relative information on administrative and financial aspects relating to participation in EC programmes.
The overall objective of the EcTIST project is to encourage SMEs to participate in FP6. ECTIST will periodically organize Regional and National events so that SMEs will be able to meet other players in their same field of activities, the next event in this context is the surface technology brokerage at the Hannover Industrial Fair 2005
Companies that have a general interest in European research cooperation have the possibility to fill in the "participation" form at http://www.ectist.com/intererest_part1000.0.html,to(opens in new window) get information about European research projects looking for additional partners.
