EU-Russian Brokerage at the EVA conference

Supported by Admire-P, a team of Russian researchers will attend the EVA 2005 conference on Electronic Imaging & Visual Arts, taking place on 14-18 March 2005 in Florence, Italy.

The EVA 2005 covers a variety of areas in the crossover between research in IT and the cultural sector. Mediterranean initiatives in technology for cultural heritage are seeking synergies with European and international funding programmes.
The EVA conference targets the IT industry, in particular multimedia SME and also targets any technology and visual arts research organisations. Organisations belonging to the cultural or media sector, those belonging to the travel & tourism sector and governmental organisations are further target audiences. ,For more information on the EVA conference, please visit: http://www.evaflorence.it/(opens in new window)
The Russian researchers will present their latest research results at the EVA and will be looking for IST-project partners. ,At the Admire-P exhibition stand at the EVA conference you will be able to meet the researchers and talk to them in person about possible future projects.
A number of additional Admire-P support services can be explored at the booth:,- You can have a look at the catalogue containing approximately 40 profiles of Russian researchers active in research areas covered by the EVA conference. You are invited to take advantage of the partnering opportunities linked to this catalogue.,- You can search the online database comprising 160 updated and ,classified profiles of Russian researchers active in the different ,priorities of the IST-programme.,- You can receive information about the support available for ,establishing contacts with Russian partners, and information on the ,assistance EU and Russian partners receive from Admire-P in order ,to overcome the cultural problems surrounding collaboration.
Funded within FP5/ IST, the Admire-P project promotes co-operation between Europe and Russia, in particular Privolzhsky Federal District (near-to-Volga) within FP6/ IST. ,Privolzhsky Federal District is one of the seven federal districts of Russia. Pri-volzhsky covers more than 1 million square kilometers and is inhabited by 32 million people. ,The district represents over 12% of all Russian research personnel and accounts for about 20% of Russian patents. In Information Society Technologies, it has widespread research in broadband transmission, e-learning, nano-technologies, photonics, technologies for trust and confidence and technologies for culture.
Admire-P is coordinated by Singleimage, Cambridge, UK.,FFG/ Austrian Research Promotion Agency, Vienna, Austria and the University of Nizhniy Novgorod, Nizhniy Novgorod (the former Gorki), Russia, are project partners.
