Tallinn hosts the International Conference "Gender & Health: Women`s Health in this Century". The conference will be organised by the European Association of Women and Health Research and Tallinn Social Welfare and Health Care Board on 25-27 April 2005 in Estonia.

The conference looks at the situation of women's health in changed conditions. The accession of 10 new Member States to the European Union has brought along many changes in different countries. The changes have been in the field of simplified movement of labour between countries, increased involvement of women in different fields of life, including political life. At the same time in many countries of the European region we can see increased unemployment and family poverty, birth rate has decreased and the population has grown older. The changes have taken place also in peoples health behaviour, in the availability and organisation of health care services.
The aim of the conference is to discuss specific aspects related to change of women's social role regarding health issues, disease risks, availability of various health care services, the role of the state in approving the legislative acts supporting womens health, also health problems and risks of immigrant women.
The main topics of the conference will be:,- Women's Health, Biophysical Factors ,- Gender-sensitive Health Care System ,- The Role of the State and Society in Shaping the Health of Women ,- The Role of Multicultural Society and the State in shaping Women's Health.
