A seminar in the 1998 series of "Ten Nobels for the Future", will be held in Milan, Italy, from 18 to 22 June 1998. This series of seminars, which began in 1993, will adopt a slightly different approach this year. Formerly the seminars brought together a number of Nobel laureates, and experts in disciplines which the Nobel Prize does not cover, to discuss their visions of science, economics and ethics for the coming century.

This next seminar will, however, only feature one Nobel laureate, Professor Gary S. Becker who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1992. He will attend a series of meeting in Milan over several days, which will be planned in different venues for different kinds of audiences. These audiences will range from researchers, students, professors and school pupils, to managers, decision-makers and the general public. This will ensure maximum benefit from the event, by covering a wider range of interests and concerns.

Further seminars will be organized with other Nobel laureates in the months to come, and are expected to follow a similar format.
