European Conference on Model Driven Architecture (EC-MDA) - Workshop

A one day workshop "From code centric to model centric software engineering: Practices, Implications and ROI" is taking place in the framework of the European Conference on Model Driven Architecture (EC-MDA) on 8 November 2005 in Nuremberg, Germany.

8 November 2005 - 8 November 2005
Germany
Model Driven Development (MDD) technology, by raising the level of abstraction, provides a powerful toolset to the software development process. The change of paradigm, from code centric to model centric engineering, implies an evolution in the processes, tools and methods used by IT providers and IT divisions. This evolution is strategic and needs to be defined and planned carefully to achieve a successful adoption.

This workshop will bring together industrials and researchers to discuss, among other issues, how the evolution from code centric to model centric development can be managed; the main challenges facing the adoption of MDD; how to measure success and ROI; what tools are currently available and used by the industry, methodology and best practices. The workshop aims to provide a forum for sharing experience and discussing the usage of MDD in different industries, with the potential for uncovering new opportunities for MDD usage and strengthening organizational practices supported by feedback from experienced industrial users. You can find further details about the workshop on http://www.enabler.com/en/skills/ecmda/enabler-ws.html(opens in new window)
